August 2015 Character Trait: Patience

August 6, 2015

Our Christ-like character-trait for this month is: patience

Patience is: “Waiting until later for what you want now.”

Our Scripture memory verse is:  “Be strong and brave and wait on the Lord’s help.” Psalm 27:14

Our bible story is: Joseph

Here’s a short video of our story in case you need a little refresher.

Here are some ideas that you can implement using our acronym B.E.L.O.V.E.D. to help our learners understand the character trait of patience:

Bless Everyone

  • Use your words to talk about having patience at church, at home, and at school.
  • Use your words to praise kids/teens in the classroom when they’re being patient.
  • Talk about patience in the context of an activity that requires being patient.

Love Others

  • Model patience thru your actions.

Value Each

  • Ensure that your attitude reflects value, worth, and respect for others.

Discuss God’s Word

  • Join in on what they’re doing and tell them the story of Joseph.
  • Complete this month’s activity pages with them.
  • Grab the small magnetic whiteboard and have them match the pictures of this month’s Scripture memory verse and/or prayer.

Thank you for creating a space in your busy day to serve others and help to make disciples!

God bless,

PS: Ask God to give you more patience for a specific person or area of your life?
