Our Newest Partnership: Quest South

QuestSouth

I’m excited to introduce our newest special needs partnership with Quest.

For over 50 years, Quest has supported Central Floridians with developmental and intellectual disabilities by offering choices and opportunities to live, learn, work and play. Quest’s mission, through quality and innovation, is to build communities where people with disabilities achieve their goals.

SpecialFriendsLogoCinchIn April our Special Friends ministry committed to partnering with the Quest South Adult Day Training Center to achieve their goal of developing life-enrichment classes.  I’m proud to announce that by mid-May members of First Baptist Orlando started teaching the first set of classes!

Classes for individuals at Quest South encompass Music, Language, Performing Arts, and Creative Arts!  These classes are designed to improve the quality of life for individuals at Quest South by adding an increased sense of purpose, joy, and fulfillment.

For volunteers this is a great opportunity to use your specific talents, interests, and skills to help others achieve their highest potential.

There are two teaching options available:

  • Option A—teach a one-hour class/one day per week/for 4 consecutive weeks.
  • Option B—teach 3 consecutive one-hour classes for one day only.

Choose any day, Monday-Friday, and anytime between 9AM to 12PM.

Contact Mike Woods, Director of Special Needs, at michaelwoods@firstorlando.com for more info!

PS:  I want to give a BIG shout-out to our Special Friends ministry Prayer Team who committed to praying daily for this partnership back in January 2015!
