May 2015 Character Trait: Responsibility

April 30, 2015

Curriculum

Jonah

Our Christ-like character-trait for this month is: responsibility

Responsibility is: “Showing you can be trusted with what’s expected of you.”

Our Scripture memory verse is:  “Love God and obey Him.”   Deut. 11:1

Our bible story is:  Jonah and the big fish.

Here’s a short video of our story in case you needs a little refresher.

Here are some ideas that you can implement using our acronym B.E.L.O.V.E.D. to help our learners understand the character trait of obedience:

Bless Everyone

  • Use your words to talk about the types of responsibilites kids/teens have at church, at home, and at school.

Love Others

  • Model responsibility thru your actions.

Value Each

  • Ensure that your words and tone of voice convey respect and value for those we serve.

Discuss God’s Word

  • Join in on what they’re doing and tell them the story of Jonah
  • Complete this month’s activity pages with them.
  • Grab the small magnetic whiteboard and have them match the pictures of this month’s Scripture memory verse and/or prayer.

Thank you for creating a space in your busy day to serve others and help to make disciples!

God bless,

Mike

PS:  What’s one thing that God is asking you to being responsible and obeying Him?
