Joseph

Our Christ-like character-trait for this month is:  self-control.

Self-control is: “Doing what God wants me to do, not what I want to do.”

Our Scripture memory verse is:  “In your anger do not sin.”  Eph.4:26

Our bible story is:  Joseph (from the Old Testament).

Joseph sold into slavery in case you needs a little refresher.

There’s a lot to Joseph’s story.  Focus on those parts that reveal his trust in God and show his ability to accept his situation.

Here are some ideas that you can implement using our acronym B.E.L.O.V.E.D. to help our learners understand the character trait of obedience:

Bless Everyone

  • When a learner says something, or does something, that shows self-control affirm them with positive words.
  • Use your words to encourage our learners to be self-controlled (i.e. use their words vs. yelling/screaming).

Love Others

  • Model with your actions, self-control for our learners.

Value Each

  • Ensure that your words and tone of voice convey respect.

Discuss God’s Word

  • Join in on what their doing and tell them the story of Joseph.
  • Complete this month’s activity pages with them.
  • Grab the small magnetic whiteboard and have them match the pictures of this month’s Scripture memory verse.

Thank you for creating a space in your busy day to serve others and help to make disciples!

God bless,

Mike
