Our Jesus character-trait for this month isgentleness.

Gentleness is: “Showing Others You Care Thru Your Words and Actions.”

Our Scripture memory verse is:  “Let everyone see your gentleness.”  Phil.4:5

Our bible story is one that involves a man who is often referred to as: The Good Samaritan.

Here a link to the story of The Good Samaritan in case you needs a little refresher.

Focus more on the part of the story that involves the attitudes, words, and actions that the Samaritan man had towards the injured man.  Contrast that with the other characters in the story.

Here are some ideas that you can implement using our acronym B.E.L.O.V.E.D. to help our learners understand the character trait of obedience:

Bless Everyone

  • When a learner says something, or does something, that is caring (gentle), affirm them with positive words.
  • Use your words to encourage our learners to be gentle.

Love Others

  • Show up on time and welcome them as they come into the room.
  • Be physically and mentally present and engaged.
  • Model gentleness for our learners.

Value Each

  • If you have to use physical guidance do so gently.
  • Ensure that your words and tone of voice convey respect.

Discuss God’s Word

  • Join in on what their doing and tell them the story of the Good Samaritan.
  • Complete this month’s activity pages with them.
  • Grab the small magnetic whiteboard and have them match the pictures of this month’s Scripture memory verse.

Thank you for creating a space in your busy day to serve others and help to make disciples!

God bless,

Mike
