Unique

OneOfaKind
Our character lesson for November 2014 is: Unique.
Unique: “Something or someone that’s one of a kind!”

We’ll spend this month helping our kids and teens to learn that they are one of a kind…made in the image of God.
Our bible story is:  Gideon.
Here’s a link to review Gideon’s story:
The part of the story to focus on is that Gideon thought that he was less-than-average.  Unimportant and not much use at all.  He couldn’t believe that God would ever have a special plan for his life.  But God let Gideon know beyond a shadow of a doubt that He had a plan for Gideon’s life.
Our memory verse this month:  “I praise you because of the wonderful way you created me.” Ps.139:14
Our prayer for the month:  “Dear Lord, thank you for making me in your image.”
Here’s some ideas of how you can help teach this important concept thru your friendship with our learners:
  1.  Share the story of Gideon as you interact with a kiddo/teen.
  2.  Complete a couple of the activity pages with them.
  3. Using the small magnetic whiteboard, have them match the pictures for the memory verse.
  4. Model and/or verbally prompt them to repeat our prayer for the month.
  5. Let you actions and words convey respect and value as you interact with them during a preferred activity.
And don’t forget how much this lesson also applies to YOU.  God’s gifted you in a way to perfectly carry out the plan He has for your life!
