GiveBack 2012

October 29, 2012

This year GiveBack turns five years old.  It doesn’t seem possible, but this unique Central Florida community event has given over 2000 shoeboxes to kids in poverty across the world.  From its inception, GiveBack has given hundreds of people with disabilities the opportunity to be contributors and not just recipients.

On November 3rd, 2012 an estimated 300 people with disabilities and their families will shop in the GiveBack Marketplace, write personal notes and build more than 1000 shoeboxes.  With the aid of more than 100 volunteers, participants will enjoy making handprint art and taking family pictures to be included in their shoe boxes as special gifts showing God’s love for people.  Face painting, cookie decorating, Christmas caroling and many other festive holiday activities will also be available for those seeking to show the giving spirit of the disability community.

You can be a part of the community wide event!  Many volunteers are still needed to help lead activities, facilitate the show box packing and just be a buddy to participants.  Items to be used to fill the show boxes are also needed.

GiveBack is just one of the events from the Central Florida based ministry Life Disability Network.  Lift Disability Network is the place where the disability community comes together… an intersection where faith and society converge… where families gather… organizations team up… leaders are developed… and Life is elevated.
