Different Dream Parenting

December 3, 2011

I’ve been reading through a book by my friend Jolene Philo.  Jolene’s not only a parent of a child with special needs but also a teacher.  In her new book Different Dream Parenting, Jolene shares practical strategies, biblical insights, and encouragement for your journey with God and as a parent to a child with special needs.

One of my favorite chapters in the book is Comfort In Christ!  Jolene knows what it feels like to grieve over the loss of a “dream” for your child.  In this chapter she shares her thoughts on faith in the midst of grief, purpose in the midst of grief, and the hope that we can have in the midst of grief.  Jolene reminds readers that “God has a purpose for their children’s lives…” and sometimes life consists of a constant unwrapping of that purpose!

If you’re searching for an encouraging book and one that will deepen your faith in your walk as a parent of a child with special needs, then look no further!  You’ve found it.
