Access-Life Expo in Tennessee!

September 13, 2011

by Doug Goddard, Access-Life Executive Director

Well our third Access-Life Expo of the year is in the books and like the first two God really showed up big time! From the unseasonably mild weather and periodic breezes to the laughter and smiles on the faces of both participants and volunteers, God’s finger prints were everywhere.

All in all we had around 450 people attend including both volunteers and participants and gave boat rides to over 200 individuals and family members living with disabilities! Along with the boat rides, bank fishing, arts, crafts, games and food, we added archery and kayaking this year. We even transported a special accessible dock from Florida to Tennessee so those with balance, ambulatory or other limitations could participate with minimal help.

While there were so  any stories and testimonies from the day, personally I loved hearing the cheers as each individual and/or family entered the Expo. I also was excited to learn of several participants who overcame their fears and doubts to not only try kayaking but to like it so much it was hard to get them back on dry land!

God sure is in the business of blessing and I believe everyone got their share this day.

I’ve posted about 50 pictures from the event on our website at Feel free to check them out.

Please note: Access-Life will be hosting another event in Ocoee, FL in November…God is REALLY busy doing BIG things in the Sunshine state~ don’t miss your chance to see what He’s up to!
