Access Life: A great new resource!

June 20, 2011

Doug Goddard of Access Life

It’s a joy to describe a relatively new organization: Access Life. This group, founded by Doug and Leanne Goddard, is based in Florida. However, the effects of the Goddards’ efforts are far-reaching!

Doug and Leanne are no strangers to special needs. Doug was injured in a diving accident prior to his junior year in high school. As a result, he is a  c 5/6 quadriplegic. Through this experience, Doug grew in faith and came to believe that “God has not only a plan but a good plan for folks affected by disabilities.” Doug and Leanne founded Access Life with the mission to develop and execute programs and events for people living with disabilities that share the love and gospel of Jesus Christ, as well as connect them to Christ honoring churches, organizations, resources and people within their community.”

To accomplish this, Access Life hosts several different events. First is the Access Life Expos. These events allow families affected by disabilities to connect with  churches and organizations in the community that provide resources and support. More than a resource fair, these events offer boat rides, crafts, games and food.

Another way Access Life ministers is through Fishing with Friends. These events allow families to enjoy a day of fishing and fun. Finally Access Life hosts Crafting Community. Like Fishing with Friends, this allows folks with similar interests to connect and enjoy hobbies while getting to know one other.

For more information about Access Life, visit the website at  You’ll love what you see…Doug and Leanne really are “fishers of men!
